Wart Removal Treatment Options
Understanding Wart Removal
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can appear on different areas of the body, including the hands, feet, and face. They can spread through direct skin contact or contaminated surfaces. While some warts may disappear on their own, professional wart removal treatments can provide faster relief and prevent recurrence.
Our Wart Removal Treatments
We provide several professional wart removal treatments based on the type, location, and severity of your wart. Our specialists will recommend the most suitable option for you.
Cryotherapy (Freezing Treatment)
Cryotherapy is one of the most common wart removal treatments, involving the application of liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy the wart tissue.
How it works:
Liquid nitrogen is applied directly to the wart using a cotton swab or spray.
The extreme cold causes the wart to blister and eventually fall off.
Multiple sessions may be required for complete wart removal.
Pros:
Quick procedure with minimal discomfort.
Effective for common and plantar warts.
Suitable for most areas of the body.
Cons:
May require repeat treatments.
Temporary redness, swelling, or blistering may occur.
Electrocautery (Burning Treatment)
Electrocautery uses heat generated by an electric current to burn off the wart, ensuring complete removal.
How it works:
Local anesthesia is applied to numb the area.
A specialized tool delivers controlled heat to destroy wart tissue.
The treated area forms a scab, which heals within a few weeks.
Pros:
Provides precise removal with minimal surrounding tissue damage.
Suitable for stubborn or recurrent warts.
Typically requires only one session.
Cons:
May leave a small scar.
Mild discomfort post-procedure.
Surgical Excision (Cutting Out the Wart)
Surgical excision is a minor surgical procedure that involves cutting out the wart completely.
How it works:
Local anesthesia is applied to numb the area.
The wart is removed using a scalpel.
Stitches may be needed, depending on the wart’s size and location.
Healing typically takes around 7-10 days.
Pros:
Immediate wart removal in one session.
Highly effective for deep-rooted or large warts.
Cons:
May leave a small scar.
Slight discomfort and healing time required.
Which Treatment Is Right for You?
The best wart removal treatment depends on factors such as the wart’s size, location, and severity. During your consultation, our specialists will assess your condition and recommend the most effective treatment option for you.
Recovery and Aftercare
After wart removal, proper aftercare ensures a smooth recovery and reduces the risk of recurrence.
Post-treatment care tips:
Keep the treated area clean and dry.
Avoid picking at scabs or touching the area unnecessarily.
Follow your doctor’s instructions on wound care and bandaging.
Monitor the area for any signs of infection, such as redness or swelling.
Avoid direct pressure or friction on the treated site until it fully heals.
